Getting started with Sketch2React 2021

What is Sketch2React?

Sketch2React is a companion app that lets you build React & HTML powered prototypes & simple websites straight from inside Sketch. Without plugins and only using built-in tools in Sketch. 👍🤖

Mac only

Sketch2React is at the moment a Mac-only design to code development environment. Of course, your exported code can be used anywhere so technically you can also work together with developers using Windows. But all the building and designing is done inside of Sketch app.

About Team Sketch2React

We're a small team consisting of senior developer (Fredrik Ward) and senior designer (Juan Maguid). We’re based in Stockholm, Sweden.

In Sketch app you:

• Build and design with our responsive code components
• Style our code components
• Layout & structure with our framework rules

ProTip: Start by using our very simple pre-made S2R Sketch Shared Library to get a great start. To restyle them just unlink from library and go wild 😺 👍

In Sketch2React 2021 you:

• View in real-time what you are doing in Sketch
• Export to code - React & HTML
• After export you get a React web project based on Create React App or a HTML project.

To get started you need

• Sketch app 68+ plus our assistant
• Sketch2React 2021, download it here
• Node.js & npm - Optional, only if you plan on exporting to React
• Code editor, we prefer the awesome free Visual Studio Code - Optional

That’s it! You are now ready to start building and designing React & HTML websites directly inside of Sketch!
